Miriam's story

Miriam is 34 years old and she is the single mother of a 15-year old girl. She is a member of the communal bank "Triunfo II".

She requests a loan in the amount of S/. 3000

The loan which she requests will be invested in the purchase of merchandise to supply her convenience store and drugstore.

Miriam is a nurse by profession. She previously worked in a pharmacy and she also sold clothing to have another income. Her sister mentioned that she had a store to rent so she decided to take it and to open her own general store. She slowly added variety. Currently she sells plastic items, bottled drinks, soft drinks, and other merchandise. And as she once worked in a pharmacy she also opened a drugstore and it has been very successful.

She has been with Finca Peru (Kiva Field Partner) for 3 years and she likes it for the training provided and the workshops. She puts what she learns into practice in her daily life.

She is saving money to have more working capital.

Her dream is to be able to build a house of her own, ready with a large space for her store.
