Rosita's story

Rosita W. is from the village of Lagonglong, Misamis Oriental. She is 64 years old. She is separated from her spouse and has 1 school-aged child. To make a living, Rosita owns & operates a sari-sari (variety) retail shop, selling canned goods, junk foods, shampoo, beverages & biscuits in the local community. Rosita has been engaged in her business for over 5 years and earns approximately 10000 PHP a month for these activities.

In 2008, Rosita joined HSPFI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and her ability to engage in business activities. She has successfully repaid a previous loan of 5000 PHP from HSPFI. This previous loan was used to purchase additional inventory & working capital. Rosita is requesting a new loan of 4000 PHP which will be used to purchase additional products, canned goods & junk foods. This will be the 6th loan taken out by Rosita from HSPFI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve and expand her business.
