A loan of $725 helped to buy sacks of fertilizer and sheep.

Ida's story

Ida is 51 years old and lives with her children in a house that belongs to distant relatives but is under her care. She has been in farming for 20 years and has always grown crops. She also receives assistance from her son who helps organize and contract workers for the planting and harvest seasons, and arrange purchase or rental of a plough or tractor, depending on the land's condition. After harvest she sells her produce wholesale at the local market and obtains a good income.

She also sells yoghourt that she buys wholesale at a dairy products factory. She is currently focused on planning for the upcoming harvest. This is her 10th loan through MFP and she is very happy to have a circle of friends at the communal bank where people are not only responsible individuals but also work well as a team, for which she is grateful.

She plans to use the loan to buy sacks of fertilizer and some sheep.
