A loan of $725 helped to buy cooking supplies and to pay for maintenance work on her car.

Braulia's story

Braulia is a member of the 'Las Amistosas' community bank which is located in Urcos district, in Quispicanchis province, in Cusco department.

Braulia is 47 years old, widowed, and has 3 children. She divides her time between her daily activities and her business selling meals. She also has a car which provides a taxi service in the city of Cusco. Braulia carries out her meals business as an itinerant street vendor. She prepares her chicken soup, chiriuchu (a traditional Cusco dish made from guinea pig, tortilla, corn, sausage and chicken), and 'chicha blanca' (a traditional, white corn-based drink). Through her businesses, Braulia gets her children ahead in life.

Braulia would like to improve her transportation business and her meals business. She is requesting a loan to buy cooking supplies and to pay to have maintenance work done on her car. She is happy to be receiving the loan and pledges to make her repayments on time.
