A loan of $1,150 helped james plans to use his loan to improve his farm.

James's story

James is 37 years old, married, and looks after his own six children as well as three orphans. For the past 15 years, he has been packing dried beans and peas into sacks for wholesale. The 50 -100kg sacks are sold wholesale to retail stores who then weigh out the amount requested by customers. James is also a subsistence farmer. The farm land of the Ntugamo District, where he lives, is quite fertile and it is not uncommon for farmers to be able to grow extra crops for sale. James is a particularly good farmer who stands out because of the large volume of dried goods he can provide for sale.
