A loan of $550 helped to buy pigs.

Fanny's story

Fanny N. is a member of "El Cisne" (The Swan) community bank. She lives in San Isidro community, which is located in El Valle parish. This is a cold climate parish whose people work in commerce, raise animals and farm. They are very hard-working people who are always striving to get their families ahead in life.

Fanny is 31 years old, married, and has three children aged 13, 11 and 8. All of her children are attending an elementary school in her community. Her husband is a carpenter. Through their joint work and sacrifice, they have managed to build their own home.

Fanny's business is raising pigs and chickens at home. She has been in this business for 9 years and only sells her animals on market days. She has also been working as a cleaner since she was 15. She works half days from Monday to Friday.

Fanny is a founding member of her community bank and all her loans have helped her in her business. She will invest her loan money in buying more pigs.

Fanny's goal is to finish off her house.
