A loan of $925 helped to purchase fruits, vegetables, quilts, pork skins, and ingredients for making popsicles.

Cruz Maria's story

Sra. Cruz is a resident of a place called Tierra Blanca, which is also known as “The Bride of the Sun”. In addition to being a livestock region, it is one of the warmest places in the State of Veracruz. Doña Cruz is 34 years old and has a high school education. She is married to Sr. Eduardo and has two children, a five year old daughter named Suzet who is in preschool and a seven year old son named Edward who is an elementary school student.

Doña Cruz says that she started her own business more than two years ago. She sells quilts, popsicles, pork skins, oranges, frozen foods, and vegetables. Cruz started out by hanging a sign on the door of her house and now she has customers who come to shop.

She needs this loan to invest in the purchase of tomatoes, onions, chili peppers, carrots, chayote, potatoes, oranges, bags, sweeteners, flavorings, pork skins, cream, cheese, fruit, and quilts for eventual resale.

Doña Cruz says that she has been saving and hopes to start building a small shop where she can sell her products. She says she is grateful to Fundación Realidad for these loans which have helped her continue investing her business and keep growing.
