A loan of $850 helped to buy supplies for her paper store.

Yoshelin's story

Yoshelin lives in a place called Tierra Blanca, which is better known as la novia del sol (the girlfriend of the sun), since, in addition to being a ranching region, it is one of the places with the hottest weather in Veracruz. Yose (as her siblings and friends call her) is 19 years old. She studied through high school, since her parents were not able to afford more education for her.

She tells us that since she went to high school, they taught her to work with handcrafts. Upon leaving the school, she decided to start her own business selling handcrafts (paper and craft foam flowers, embroidered napkins, and party favors). Some time after, a woman liked her work, and hired Yose to work with her in her business. Now she works in the mornings, and she has joined with her sister to start a small paper shop.

She needs this loan to invest in the purchase of pencils, automatic pencils, white and colored paper, school glue, scissors, card stock, bond paper, Plasticine, polystyrene, craft foam, notebooks, sheets of paper, and biographies.

She is thinking about putting her paper store in her house. She tells us that it will be successful because it will be the only paper store in her community.

She hopes that her earnings will be good, since in the future she hopes to build business premises in order to better establish the store.
