A loan of $1,075 helped to purchase sacks of fertilizer.

Abel's story

Abel is 25 years old and a very modest and hard-working person. He lives in his parents' home and is prepared to work very hard to move up in life. He put in a lot of effort to obtain fields of crops in order to make a living, and his products are in high demand at the wholesale market in Tarma since they gained fame for their high quality, which allows him to sell the products at very good prices. What he likes most about his work is protecting his crops from pests that could harm them. He has eight years' experience in this activity, and the thing he considers most difficult is transporting his sacks of potatoes, corn and peas, since they are very heavy and tiresome to carry. In the future, he hopes to buy more land to expand his production. This is his 10th loan with Kiva partner MFP, and he knows that this support will be very beneficial to his business' development. He is a very happy member of his community bank and always keep order at the meetings. With the loan of 3,000 soles he is requesting, he plans to purchase fertilizer to make his lands more fertile.
