A loan of $375 helped to buy shoes and trousers.

Merle's story

Merly is 54 years old and a very sincere woman. She lives in her own home with her husband Cesar, 61, and their children, one who is 31 and independent and Junior who is 14 years old, for whom she works hard every day.

For a long time she sold fish for a living but had to change businesses for health reasons. Ten years ago she began selling casual clothing and shoes out of a stall she rents in the market located far from home. She enjoys her work very much but this season sales are down. She has not been able to sell much clothing or shoes during the school campaign so her earnings have been scarce and she could not even pay for the stall rental this month. She is unable to stock up on merchandise and can only purchase what the customers order. She is convinced that through hard work she will be able to set up a bazaar in her own home so her life is a little more relaxed.

She is happy to be receiving her 26th loan through MFP and is committed to paying it back on time.

She plans to use the loan to buy shoes and trousers, pay stall rental and save the rest for an emergency.
