The "Sol Naciente” ["Rising Sun"] communal bank has been operating for 2 loan cycles (each cycle is 4 months), and thus the members have 1 year together as a group. The communal bank is maD. up of friendly and charismatic people. Its meetings take place every thirty days in the central office of the Arariwa Association, in the city of Cusco. Most of the members live in the various districts of the city of Cusco. Cusco is one of the most-visited cities of our country. It has countless tourist attractions nearby which have delighted visitors from everywhere in the world. One of the most important is Machu Picchu, one of the wonders of the world, a city of stone that is very famous for its constructions and its reflection of Inca civilization. It is also one of the most visited tourist destinations in the world thanks to the beauty of its landscapes, including agricultural terraces, waterfalls, rivers, stone staircases and impressive historic sites.

The members are people who feel very proud of living in the city of Cusco, and they are taking advantage of opportunities to get ahead and proviD. a better future for their children through their daily efforts. The economic activities pursued by some of the members incluD., for example, selling clothing, food, handicrafts, books, or cell phone accessories, while others work providing services.

Lidia is a member who was born in the city of Quillabamba, in Convección province of the department of Cusco. She is 49 years old. Currently, Lidia lives together with her two children in the city of Cusco. Lidia's main economic activity is offering professional accounting services. She has an accounting firm which is equipped with the basics. She opened this office in 1996, and since then she has improved it with furnishings such as desks, chairs, personal computers and other things. At this time, Lidia needs a loan, like her fellow members of the communal bank, to increase her business capital. She would like to increase her capital so she can buy a laptop. Lidia's dream is to have another accounting office and help her children become professionals.

El banco comunal “Sol Naciente” tiene 2 ciclos D. funcionamiento (cada ciclo son 4 meses) entonces tiene un año juntos como grupo, el banco comunal está conformado por personas amigables y carismáticas. Las reuniones del banco comunal son cada treinta días en la oficina central D. la Asociación Arariwa D. la ciudad del Cusco. La mayoría D. los socios viven en los diferentes distritos D. la ciudad del Cusco. Cusco es una D. las ciudades más visitadas D. nuestro país. El Cusco cuenta con una infinidad D. atractivos turísticos cercanos que han encantado al mundo entero. Uno D. los principales es Machupicchu, una D. las maravillas del mundo, una ciudad D. piedra muy famosa por sus construcciones y el reflejo D. la civilización inca. Los socios son personas que se sientes muy orgullosos D. vivir en la ciudad del Cusco y aprovechan las oportunidades para salir adelante y con su esfuerzo diario entregar un mejor futuro a sus hijos. Las actividades económicas D. algunos D. los socios a las que se dedican son por ejemplo; venta D. ropa, comestibles, artesanía, libros, accesorios para celulares y otros se dedican a brindar servicios.

Asociación Arariwa is a large non-governmental organization that started offering microcredit in 1994 to improve the quality of life, skills and equity of the population in the rural Cusco region of Peru.
