A loan of $900 helped to purchase fertilizer for his crops.

Raul's story

Raúl is 50 years old and a very hard-working and happy person. He lives in his own home along with his wfie Ofelia, 35, and their two beloved children, 8-year-old Jairo and 5-year-old Angy, for whom he wants to provide a better quality of life. Working arduously, Raúl has been able to make progress with his fields of crops. He gets up early every morning to water and provide the proper care to his banana and coffee crops, which he later will sell in the city of Pichanaki, since that's where his products fetch the best prices. What he likes most about his job is the freedom of working out in the lush fields. He has 24 years' experience in this activity and the thing he considers to be the most difficult is working on the land all day and not having much time for other interests. In the future, he wants to adapt his lands to raise citrus crops, since at this time those are the best products to sell. This is his fifth loan with Kiva partner MFP, and he knows that the loan will really help his business' progress and development. It's for this reason he is ready to make all his loan payments on time. He is a very responsible and respected member of his community bank. With the loan of 2,500 soles, he plans to purchase fertilizer for his his crops.
