A loan of $1,200 helped to buy plastic, PVC and 'clefa' (an adhesive).

Genoveva's story

Genoveva and her husband Roberto live in Kupini which is located 30 minutes from La Paz city center. They have a workshop where they make traditional women's footwear. They have been in this business for more than 20 years. Genoveva's children are already grown up and live independently so she now uses the income from her business to build her home.

The ladies in this city who wear traditional, regional skirts wear this kind of footwear which is maD. mainly from plastic and patent leather with a rubber sole. Roberto makes the shoes and Genoveva sells them in different parts of the city. They even have customers in the city of El Alto. The couple have been working with Emprender for several years and during this time they have shown themselves to be very responsible clients who are punctual in making their loan repayments. They will use their loan money to buy materials for making their shoes such as plastic and adhesive (clefa). Genoveva is very grateful to the institution for the support they have offered her.
