A loan of $1,200 helped to buy pigs, as well as seeds to plant.

Johana Elizabeth's story

Johana Elizabeth T. Y. is 24 years old, single, and lives with her parents in San Miguel in the Tangara area, which belongs to the Province of Bolívar. She does not have any children.

The name of this communal bank is “Campesinos Unidos” and it is located in the Tangara area, 15 minutes from the Canton of San Miguel. The members of the communal bank work in farming and in business.

Johana works in farming and has animals such as pigs. She grows corn to increase her family’s income. She buys her products in San Miguel and sells them at the market in the same canton.

She is requesting the loan to purchase farming supplies, fertilizers, seeds, and pigs. The loan will help her family business, as she will produce more and she needs to work to pay off the debt. Her dream is to buy a house.

The challenges she faces are pests and diseases among her crops. She likes to dance, especially during the carnival celebrations.
