A loan of $4,600 helped a member to purchase bolts of cloth for resale.

Chantal's Group's story

Chantal (with her hand raised in the photo) is 28 years old and lives with her husband, Maurice, and their two children in Cotonou, Benin's largest city. Both of their children are in school.

Chantal belongs to this loan group consisting of 34 women who all live in the same neighborhood. This is their first loan with ALIDE. They have agreed to support each other in business and through loan repayments.

Chantal runs a stall selling cloth and other sewing materials. This loan will enable her to purchase bolts of cloth from Tokpa, Benin's largest market. Chantal’s strongest point as an entrepreneur is her rigor in finances and accounting. Her aim in the long term is to strengthen and diversify her business.
