A loan of $675 helped to buy utensils and plates.

Anicia's story

Anicia D. A. G. from Tarapoto, San Martin, owns a juice bar that sells refreshing fruit drinks and popular sandwiches. Founded in September of 2005 with $1, her business has grown by leaps and bounds. She attributes her success to her hard work, location, and product. Anicia shares space with her husband's busy motorcycle mechanic shop. Hot and tired mototaxi chauffeurs stop by the shop throughout the day and regularly buy Anicia’s delicious drinks.

Anicia is 24 years old and has a supportive husband and 2 young children. She is fun, friendly, and loves her business. Family members encouraged her to start the business as they recognized the opportunity to bring in extra income and knew how much she would enjoy working from home. Anicia is happier than ever and excited to be able to provide a better life for her children.

Over time Anicia has learned how to run an efficient business. Anicia joined the Community Bank Mujeres Rumbo Al Desarrollo where she was encouraged to take advantage of loans offered to their members. She is requesting a $675 loan to increase inventory and buy utensils and plates. In the future, she plans on making her juice bar more attractive and comfortable.
