A loan of $425 helped a member to purchase rice and oil for cooking meals to sell.

Delphine's Group's story

This group of 11 entrepreneurs all live in the same building in Cotonou, Benin's largest city. This is their second loan with ALIDE.

Delphine, the leader of the group (with her hand raised in the photo), was born in 1985 in Comé near the border to Togo. She moved to her current location three years ago and now lives with her husband, Casimir, and their three children.

Since the age of 10, Delphine has helped prepare food for sale, which she now does outside her home. This loan will enable her to purchase ingredients such as rice and oil from Tokpa, Benin's largest market. Her aim in the long term is to continue strengthening her business. She claims to be strong in managing her business and the group.

In this group: Delphine, Christine, Armandine, Adjoua, Juliette, Hounsiafa, Gania, Alice, Marie, Odile, Christine
