A loan of $600 helped jameo plans to use her loan to add more clothes to her store and pay rent, licensing and electricity bills.

Jameo's story

Jameo owns the Hanifa Fashion Designer Store. Her store is a clothing boutique and video library. Jameo is 24 years old and single with one child. She has developed a regular clientele of young women and is very friendly and business-oriented. Her line of clothing is of very good quality. She sells jeans, T-shirts, tops, shoes and some jewelery.

She has operated her store for four years and been a member of her lending group for the past three years. Her line of clothing would be considered luxury for most villagers, but because she is located on the outskirts of a large city, Kampala, the women from her village treat themselves to the clothes in her store. Videos are also a luxury, but serve an important need for inexpensive entertainment. With her loan Jameo plans to add more clothing to her shop, pay her electricity and license fees as well as rent on her shop.
