A loan of $900 helped to buy sacks of manure for farming business.

Nermi's story

Nermi, 38, is a friendly, hard-working woman. She lives with her husband, Jorge, 48, and their 3 children, in a house that they own. She and her husband work hard to provide a better quality of life for their children. Nermi is a farmer and the money that she earns from her land greatly help the family. She works the farm every morning, growing platanos, citrus fruits and coffee, and she knows the quality of the crop depends on the care she takes. What she most likes about farming is taking care of her crop and watching it grow by the day. She's been a farmer for 10 years and says that the most difficult thing about farming is getting her crop to market. She has to cart the crop to the town of Pichanaki because that's where she sells it, but the sacks are very heavy and difficult to move. For the future, she wants to improve her crop so that she can ensure the best price for it. This is Nermi's fourth MFP loan. She knows that she has to repay it on time and is committed to doing so. The members of her community bank consider her to be a reliable and responsible partner. She will use this loan, for two-thousand new soles, to buy supplies of manure for improving her crop yields.
