A loan of $550 helped to buy sacks of natural and chemical fertilizers.

Marleni's story

Marleni, age 42, is a very kind and hard-working woman. She lives in her own house with her 49 year old husband, Silverio, and their six dear children. She wishes to give them a better quality of life. Ever since she was very young Marleni has worked with her parents farming the land. With the years she has managed to buy her own land. Now she is one of the foremost banana, cacao, yucca, corn, and coffee producers in the Chanchamayo province.

This is the place where her buyers come to get her crops. What she likes best about her work is taking care of her crops, and she does it with much affection. She has been doing this activity for ten years. She considers transporting her products to the market to be the most difficult part of her work. That is because it is very difficult to find trucks that want to take the heavy sacks of crops.

In time she wishes to buy new land where she would be able to increase her production.

This is her fourth loan with MFP. She is very sure that she is able to make her payments on time because she has always been very punctual. She is a very happy and supportive member of her communal bank. She will use the requested 1,500 soles to buy natural and chemical fertilizers to improve productivity of her crops.
