A loan of $900 helped to pay workers to clear her cacao fields.

Cleny's story

Cleny, age 36, is a kind and hardworking woman. She lives in her own home with her husband Enrique, age 42, and their five beloved children for whom she wants to provide a better quality of life. Cleny’s work involves growing coffee, cacao, annatto, and bananas. Every morning, she and her husband leave to go to their fields. Cleny knows that the quality of her products depends on the good level of care that she provides. Once harvested, her crops are sold at the market in the city of Pichanaki. What she enjoys most about her work is sowing her fields and providing her crops the care they need. She has been farming for twelve years and considers the most difficult part to be transporting her products since the sacks of produce can be extremely heavy. Within time, she hopes to buy additional farmland so that she can increase her production.

This is her fourth loan with MFP. Cleny is saving so that she can submit her payments on time because she does not want to cause problems for the other members of her Communal Bank. She is pleased to be a member. The loan of 2500 PEN that she is requesting will be used to invest in the clearing of her cacao fields.
