Houenoussou 2 Group's story

The 13 entrepreneurs in this group live in the Sémé-Podji district of Cotonou, Benin's economic centre. They run similar businesses, and also arrange social events together. This is their first loan with ALIDE.

Hortance (with her hand raised in the photo) was born in 1979 in Cotonou. She moved to her current location 7 years ago, and now lives with her husband Geames and their five children, all of whom are in school. Since moving to Cotonou Hortance has run a stall selling shoes and miscellaneous items. This loan will enable her to increase her stock of shoes from Tokpa, Benin's largest market. Her aim in the near term is to build her credit limit.

In this group: Hortance, Angèle, Félicienne, Liliane-Alice, Aminatou, Irène, Edith, Woulematou, Sidonie, Victorine, Véronique, Victoire, Emilienne
