A loan of $725 helped to purchase fertilizers and seeds and pay for tilling the land.

Kakha's story

Kakha is 40 years old; he is married and has two children – a 10-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old son. The family lives in the village of Tsveri, Kartli Region. The family has one milk cow. They produce cheese and sell it in Khashuri, a nearby town. Also they own a 4.3 ha plot of land and grow tomatoes, haricot beans, barley and wheat. The grains and tomatoes are sold locally. In addition to the agriculture, Kakha and his wife run a retail business. They buy linens on the wholesale market and sell them in the village.

Kakha got the loan from Credo for agricultural business – to till the land, purchase fertilizers and seeds. Kakha hopes that they will have a good harvest season and plans to invest the profit in their retail business as well as paying for their children's education.
