A loan of $475 helped a member to purchase new stock of underwear for resale.

Alexandrine's Group's story

Alexandrine, Florence and Sonian all live together in the Segbeya district of Cotonou, Benin's economic center. They have agreed to support each other in their businesses and in loan repayments.

Alexandrine (with her hand raised in the photo) is the leader of the group. She is 34 years old and has lived in the neighborhood all of her life. She has a husband, Gabriel, and three children who are all at school.

For the past 10 years she has run a market stall at Tokpa, Benin's largest market. With this loan, she will buy additional stock of underwear for resale with the hope of growing her sales figures.
