Benkadi Group's story

All married, the women of the Benkadi group average 41 years of age and 4 children. They live in extended traditional families in the village of Wakoro, in the Dioïla prefecture, Koulikoro region (second administrative region of the Republic of Mali).
They know each other through blood and neighborhood ties, as well as existing friendships. They sell miscellaneous items.
The women of the Benkadi group are on their third loan, which will be used to buy fruits, condiments, various shop items, and cereal.
MAFOU B. is planning on buying fruits from the sellers in the village. She makes her sales from her home and at the market, for cash and on credit, to a clientele of men and women.
She plans to make a monthly profit of 40 000F CFA which will be used to pay for her installments and make contributions to social ceremonies. The rest will be reinvested in her fruit business.
