Avenida Lopez Avelar Group's story

This group is called "Avenida López A.." It is maD. up of 11 women. Francisca, Martha, Eustolia and Martina Roció are going to buy wholesale cosmetics to sell. Angela is going to buy wholesale perfumes to sell. Tranquilina is going to buy wholesale shoes to sell. Maria D. los Angeles is going to by corn to sell corn tamales, popcorn and prepared corn. Minerva and Alberta Eugenia are going to buy blouses, pants, shirts, skirts and other similar items to sell to help their business succeed. Maria D. The members of the group want to say to Kiva and to "Fundación Realidad" [Reality Foundation], "We thank you for the opportunity that you have given us to continue growing in our businesses."

Martina Roció is one member of the group and is 32 years old. She lives in a free union with her husband. They have 2 children, José Moisés, who is six years old and is in preschool, and Melanie who is only a month old. Martina sells cosmetics and perfumes from a catalog and is asking for a loan to buy these items on sale. She began her business four years ago. Her business is important because it leaves her with some earnings. She is proud of her business because it allows her to know a lot of people, to leave her home and have fun and possibly win awards (bestowed by the catalogue company). Her plans and hopes are to have a more stable business, to give her children the chance to study and to make sure they are healthy and that they are not lacking anything.

**The woman in the pink blouse who is holding the child in the green shirt decided not to take out a loan with FRAC, and for this reason she is no longer part of the group.
