Shamim's Group's story

Shamim lives in a small city of Pakistan called Borewala. Borewala is located in the Punjab province of Pakistan and is known for its wood works, like furniture. Her house contains two rooms and she has been living in it with her family for the past twelve years. She is 45 years old, married to M. H. and has two sons. Her elder son sells fruits, while the younger one operates a donkey cart and provides loading services to his clients.

Her husband is a rickshaw driver and provides transport services to passengers and school children. Shamim has applied for a loan from the Kiva partner, Asasah, because her husband needs to repair his rickshaw. Due to excessive usage, its engine has started creating problems and needs repair urgently. He has been operating his transport business for the past ten years and Shamim is confident that after repairing his rickshaw, her husband will be able to continue his work and earn better profits.
