A loan of $1,075 helped a member to buy another dairy cow for the dairy business.

Tasleem's Group's story

Tasleem lives in a small city of Pakistan called Khanewal. Khanewal is known for its agriculture industry. Her house contains two rooms and she has been living in it for the past 25 years with her family. She is 55 years old, married to A. Y. and has five children. Her first two sons left their education after matriculation and started work. Both of them are rickshaw drivers. Only one of her remaining three is able to continue education and is studying in eighth class. Her husband is a driver, while Tasleem sells milk. For this purpose she has a cow and a buffalo at her home. She takes care of them and sells their milk to her neighboring clients for profits. Along with her business, she also manages her household responsibilities as a mother and wife very well.

She has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah to improve her business of selling milk. Through the loan, she will purchase another dairy cow to get a larger quantity of milk for selling. She has been operating this business for the past five years and hopes that an investment will not only increase her profits but also add an asset to her business in the form of a cow. She is a new loan applicant and this is her first loan application to Asasah.
