Kalsoom's Group's story

Kalsoom lives in Khanewal, a small city located in the Punjab province of Pakistan and known for its agriculture industry. She has been living there in a two-room brick house with her family for the past 20 years.

She is married to M. A., who has a construction supply business. He deals with different construction companies and also individuals who come to buy construction supplies from him.

Kalsoom is a very supportive lady. She operates a milk-selling business at her home. She has a buffalo, a cow and a few goats. She sells their milk to her community clients and earn profits for her family. She is also a very good housewife and fulfills her household responsibilities very well.

She has three sons and a daughter. Two of them study while her eldest son works in a Punjabi food restaurant for a low income.

She has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah to improve her milk-selling business. With the loan, she will buy another buffalo to increase the production of milk, sell to more clients and increase her profits.

She has been operating this business for the past 15 years and is hopeful that an investment will help her further improve it.

She is a regular loan user of Asasah and this is her second loan application. In the previous loan year, she never missed a single meeting and paid her installments on time.
