A loan of $375 helped to buy bags of fertilizer.

Maximiliana's story

Maximiliana is 53 years old and is a fighter. She widowed 20 years ago and since then she has had to take care of her nine children. She now lives alone with her son Maicol. They live in their own home which is located in the village of Bellavista Huaracayo. The hard work that she has developed in more than 20 years in agriculture has helped her give her children the necessary education to get ahead in life. She now happily mentions that she invests her earnings in her son Maicol's higher education. Her main crops consist of peas, lima beans and corn which she watches constantly because she likes to see them grow without any major difficulties. She also constantly has to feed the two bulls she owns which she uses to plow the land. She now plans to work harder every day because she is eager to see the culmination of her youngest son's studies. "I will feel more relaxed seeing my son with a profession," she says. She belongs to the community bank “Señor de Muruhuay”. This is her third loan with field partner MFP and she is thankful for the support that she receives every growing season. Maximiliana has planted lima beans and with the loan she will buy fertilizer to spread it among her crops of lima beans and peas which she will harvest next month.
