A loan of $1,700 helped a member to buy silver jewelry.

Nuevo Progreso 3 Group's story

HaiD. is the coordinator of her group, Nuevo Progreso (New Progress), and her story is representative of her group and of Esperanza's Haitian and Dominican clients generally (many of whom recently emigrated to the Dominican Republic from Haiti).

HaiD.’s group is located in the urban slums north of Santo Domingo where running water (none of which is potable) and electricity are unreliable. She makes her home there in a simple structure with her two little children.

HaiD. is excited to be taking her fifth loan with Esperanza after having successfully repaid her previous loan and grown her business. She plans to use this loan to invest in her business selling silver jewelry in her community by purchasing rings, chain, bracelets, and many other accessories.

HaiD. will use the profits to invest in new items and increase her inventory. She thanks you all for your support.

In this group: Haide, Beatriz, Levi, Maria, Fanersa
