Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Rosa's story

Rosa C. is from the village of Miputak. She is 39 years old. Rosa is married and has five children. To make a living, Rosa owns and operates a food stall, from which she sells a variety of foods. Rosa has been engaged in her business for more than two years and earns approximately 5,000 PHP a month for these activities.

In 2006, Rosa joined PMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and her ability to engage in business activities. Rosa has successfully repaid a previous loan of 14,900 PHP from PMPC. This previous loan was used to purchase additional products to sell. Rosa is requesting a new loan of 14,900 PHP, which will be used to purchase raw materials for her food vending business. This will be Rosa's sixth loan from PMPC. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
