Elephant Group's story

J. M., who is in his early twenties, is married. He has been running chicken, fruit and vegetable businesses for one year. He works from 10:00am to 9:00pm daily and is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be J.'s second loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loan to start the fruit and vegetable business and has paid back his loan successfully. He hopes for a loan to buy more chicks for his chicken business. His dream is to one day build his own house.

J. will share this loan with his loan group "Elephant", which has a total of 21 members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable in paying back their loans.
