Kalomp Group's story

In the photo are members of the “Kalomp” group. They are small scale businessmen based in Waterloo, a small town near Freetown. They have requested a loan of SLL 3,500,000 from SMT/Kiva lenders in order to expand their businesses.

The leader of this group is Mohamed K.. Mohamed is age 38. He was born in the village of Masiaka, in northern Sierra Leone. Currently, he is residing in Waterloo, together with his wife and 3 children. His wife is a businesswoman and two of his children attend secondary school. The other one is not of school age.

Mohamed sells clothes, trousers, shoes, belts, bags, etc. He has been doing this type of business for 2 years now. With the help of this loan, he will buy the above mentioned items in large quantity to add to his business.
