A loan of $925 helped to buy several sacks of organic manure.

Herlinda's story

Herlinda is 52 years old. She separated from her husband 2 years ago but works hard to educate her two children. Herlinda lives in her own home which is located in the small village of Bellavista Huaracayo.

Herlinda started growing peas, corn and potatoes at the age of 18, on her own land and on rented land, on the outskirts of her village. During this time, she has been able to obtain good buyers in the wholesale market in Tarma who pay her very well for her harvests. Over time, she started taking her products to the country's capital.

What Herlinda most enjoys about her work is being able to negotiate her harvests. "When you work full time and intelligently, you make good profits", she says. Herlinda's main problem is paying for her children's studies and paying the rent on her farmland. She would like to obtain her own capital in order to be able to invest more easily in her harvests of the different products that she constantly grows.

Herlinda is a member of the “Señor de Muruhuay” community bank and this is her ninth loan from MFP. She feels very happy with her work as the president of her community bank. Herlinda will sow an average of 30 sacks of potatoes. She will use this loan to buy several sacks of organic manure so that she can start off her new crop successfully.
