A loan of $550 helped to buy animals and balanced feed.

María Tarcila's story

María is 55 years old, married, and lives together with her family in the village of San Pablo, 8km from the town of Tambogrande. This is an agricultural district which is located in Piura region, more than four hours from the city of Chiclayo, capital of Lambayeque region.

María raises and sells sheep. She raises them in an enclosed pen on a plot of land near her home. When they have reached a good level of development she offers them for sale to the general public and to the traders who visit her area. María has been in this business for more than 20 years and therefore knows this line of work to perfection and has a loyal customer base. She uses the income that she makes in her business to help her husband get their family ahead in life.

María would like to expand her business, buying more animals and balanced feed, so that she can increase her sales and improve her quality of life. For this reason, she is requesting a loan for 1,500 Peruvian soles from Edpyme Alternativa.
