Giorgi M. lives in the village of Kurdghelauri, Kakheti Region, with his family - his wife, parents and two children: a seven-year-old daughter and a six-month-old son. Giorgi’s wife is a housewife and his parents are pensioners.
Giorgi’s family has 8 milch cows. Alex – Giorgi’s father is actively involved in the family’s farming activities. Cheese and "matsoni" (Georgian yogurt) produced by the family are sold on the open market in Telavi, a nearby town. Giorgi is a handyman and works on the renovation of houses.
With the requested loan Giorgi’s family plans to purchase calves, raise them and sell the raised animals after 6-7 months for a higher price. With the gained profit, Giorgi plans to renovate his own house to improve living conditions for the family.
