A loan of $3,375 helped a member to buy two sheep to raise.

Sop Mame Diarra Group's story

The 13 members of the SOP MAME DIARRA group are bonded by mutual solidarity founded on cohabitation and kinship. The group was established 10 cycles ago, on July 6, 2006. The members' main business consists in raising sheep, followed by selling cereals. The group belongs to the KEUR MBAR Banc Villageois. Two members, Maguette D. et Awa L., are missing from the photograph.

Mrs. Khardiata S., standing on the left in the photograph, is the leader of the group. She's 27 years old, married, and the mother of five children. She also has to support three other kids, entrusted to her by friends and relatives.

Her main occupation consists in raising cattle, a business she has been running for over five years. Her new loan will enable her to buy two sheep that she will fatten for at least four months, before reselling them at weekly markets.

Her goal is to help support the daily expenses of her family, such as food, healthcare, and her children's school expenses.
