A loan of $575 helped to buy inventory of clothing, handbags, shoes, accessories and cosmetics.

Erica's story

Erica E. is 37 and runs a business selling clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories. As a working mother, her dream is to see her children (aged 11 and 19) eventually attain professional success. Since she began her business in 1990 this dream has guided her. Erica used to have a workshop for making high quality shoes, but competition began to undercut her sales, so she changed to offer other products, especially leather goods, along with clothing and cosmetics, to meet customer requests. She also has a transport/delivery service, which also contributes to sustain the needs of her family. This is her first loan with the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo and she plans to buy inventory of clothing, handbags, shoes, accessories and cosmetics to sell to her clients. With her knowledge of her client base, Erica foresees great success with this investment.
