Pascuala's story

Pascuala is a member of the communal bank "Virgen de Luján" (Our Lady of Luján) located in the district of Tinicachi, province of Yunguyo and department of Puno. She is 68 years old, married and the mother of six children (three are independent). She has an incomplete elementary school education.

She has been working with the microfinance institution Manuela Ramos for three years. Her first loan amounted to 300 nuevos soles, which she invested in her business. She sells groceries and pigs. Currently she applies for a new loan of 1000 nuevos soles. She will use the money to buy three pigs and sheep. Pascuala works with her husband. They are also working at their farm, harvesting potatoes, beans, barley, etc.

Her dream is to improve her business and her quality of life. What she likes about Manuela Ramos is the easiness of their loan granting procedure.
