This committee was formed by Digna Rosa L. who lives in the city of Villarrica. The women were delighted to join the 'Comité de Mujeres Emprendedoras' (Committee of Enterprising Women) program and named their group 'Manzanita'.

The members of this group work in handicrafts, especially making traditional outfits and hand-made clothes. They are requesting this loan to buy fabric, linen, special needles for this type of dressmaking and ao po'i (a fine cotton cloth).

Oilda C. has been a craftswoman for a long time. She would like to get ahead financially because she would like to be able to provide her family with a better future. She knows that it is very difficult to get financial support since she has tried to obtain such support from other institutions and was not successful. For this reason, she is very grateful to Fundación Paraguaya and Kiva because they are providing her with the opportunity to increase her family income.

About Fundación Paraguaya

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
