A loan of $5,000 helped a member to buy three containers of palm oil.

Ukweli Group's story

H. Chinvura is an entrepreneur and the leader of the Ukweli business group. She is 45 years old, a widow and mother to eleven children. Her husband died following a short circumstantial illness. This customer sells palm oil. She displays her goods at the market near to the Muslim mosque in the Birere district. She has been carrying out this activity for more than 15 years. She began it with funds received from a family member. Around 2007 she benefited from her first loan from IMF Hekima to strengthen her capital. This new loan will allow her to get new supplies (three containers of palm oil). Furthermore, she has an ambition to expand her business and construct a beautiful house for her children. According to her, the loan from Hekima has allowed her to live in socially and spiritually acceptable conditions and has saved her from the temptations that a large number of widows experience in their life. H. Chinvura thanks IMF Hekima for its actions dedicated to poor widows who are rejected by classic banks. The Ukweli group is made up of 45 members. However, there are two female customers in the photo who are holding their babies in their arms.
