A loan of $650 helped a member to buy another buffalo.

Sughran's Group's story

Sughran is a very supportive woman. She has been operating a milk sales business for the past 20 years to financially assist her family. She keeps a buffalo at her home, milks it and sells its milk to her community clients at reasonable rates. Sughran has applied for a loan from Kiva's partner, Asasah, to further improve her business. She plans to use the loan to buy another buffalo which will help her produce more milk and serve more clients. Sughran is hopeful that this loan will enable her business to grow and to produce more profit.

Sughran's husband, A. G., is a daily wage laborer. Sughran has a son and a daughter. Her daughter is illiterate and her son is in 8th class. For the past 20 years, Sughran and her family have been living in a 2-room brick house in Jaranwala, a small city in the Punjab region of Pakistan known for its agriculture industry. Sughran is a regular lender with Asasah and this is her 2nd loan application. She is a responsible client with a good credit record.
