Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $550 helped to buy a bundle of clothes.

Fatima Gabriela's story

Fatima Gabriela M. is an enterprising young woman whose business is selling used, American clothes. She distributes her products to a number of people who make orders with her every week from places such as Duyure, El Espino and San Francisco. She has a large number of customers and also makes sales from her home.

On weekends, Fatima works as a dressmaker. She makes blouses, skirts, pants, etc. She does this work for women in her community and has a lot of demand because her clothes are custom-made.

Fatima will use her loan to buy a bundle of used clothing.
