A loan of $1,100 helped to buy a new mototaxi.

Sara's story

Sara is a member of the communal bank "Perlas de Pucallpa," in the Calleria district of the department of Ucayali. She is 48 years old and is the mother of 5 children.

During all the years since her husband died she had to work so that she could raise her children. She started by assembling a motocar which she then put to work. Then, over time, she gathered together enough money to buy a second motocar.

With this new loan of 3,000 Peruvian soles, she will buy a new motocar, so that she will have a total of 3 vehicles. Her goal is to have 5 motocars in the near term, and to be able to maintain her small fleet of taxis. These motocars are being worked by her 2 sons and her son-in-law.

She has one son who is still taking college classes, and she covers all of the expenses with the rents that she receives from her vehicles.

Sara is grateful to the Manuela Ramos organization for the loans that have made part of her dream possible.
