Maria Natividad's story

Maria Natividad M. Aguachela is 33 years old, married and lives with her husband and unmarried children in the Guaranda canton in the province of Bolívar. She has 6 children. The members of the Enmanuel Group communal bank live in the San Juan area in the Guaranda canton. This group has 17 members, like Maria, that work in agriculture planting short cycle crops like corn, wheat, large quantities of potatoes as well as raising animals like pigs and hens. Maria goes every weekend to the Silva commercial market to buy animal feed and where she also buys products that she then sells at the Thursday market in the city of Guaranda. She is requesting a loan to purchase corn, wheat, potatoes and animals as well as feed and farming supplies. The loan will help her to financially meet her needs. The challenges she faces are pests, disease and weather variation. Her dream is to improve her economic situation. She likes to walk and visit with her family.
