A loan of $1,775 helped to purchase two milch cows.

Sergo's story

Sergo M. is 28 years old and lives in the village of Tsilkani, Kartli Region. He lives together with his big extended family, consisting of himself, his wife, daughter, parents, brother and grandmother. The family has been running an agricultural farm for 15 years which now counts four cows, seven calves, nine goats and 27 chickens.

The family produces cheese and sells it in a grocery shop in Tbilisi (capital of the country). They also sell eggs and goat's milk. Agriculture is the main source of income for Sergo’s family, along with the salary he gets for working as a policeman. Sergo’s parents work in the farm, and his wife is busy with their 1-year-old daughter.

With the loan Sergo plans to add two milch cows to the farm. It will allow them to produce more cheese and increase the income of the family. Increased income will allow Sergo to spend more on family well-being and he also plans to put aside some savings to reinvest the funds in further development of the farm.
