Sheria Group's story

Luanda B. is an entrepreneur and the leader of the business group Sheria. She is 45 years old, a widow, and the mother of seven children. Her husband had died unexpectedly. Our client, Luanda B., has a small-scale business involving a variety of goods. She sets up her merchandise in the outlying district of Kiziba II. She has been in this business for about fifteen years. In addition, she sells drinks (Primus, Fanta, colas, etc.) out of her home.

In 2005, she received her first loan from the micro-finance institution Hekima in the amount of $50 for bolstering her working capital. She must use this new loan to stock up on new brewery products (13 cases of Primus, 4 cases of Aigle, 7 cases of Fanta). She also has the ambition to make her enterprise sustainable and to build a house easily.

Our client Luanda B. thanks the micro-finance institution Hekima for its efforts dedicated to poor women who are excluded from traditional banks.

The group Sheria comprises 14 members, some of whom are comfortably dressed in the uniform of International Women’s Day, on March 8, 2011.

In this group: Genevieve, Luanda, Maombi, Kahindo, Mangaza, Bunyere, Vumilia, Dina, Tabu, Kahindo, Kahindo, Kaurwa, Banyane, Kashala
