A loan of $1,100 helped to buy chickens for her meat selling business.

Marina's story

Marina belongs to the “Nuestra Señora D. la Paz” ["Our Lady of Peace"] communal bank, of the District of Tarapoto, Department of San Martín. Marina is an accountant by profession and works as a merchant. She is a widow, 55 years old, and the mother of 6 children, all of them independent.

Her motivated efforts and her desire to get ahead led her to seek a way to generate additional income. She started her enterprise selling chickens on a retail basis, a business she has operated for more than 5 years. She has a small stall in a market near her home.

With this loan of 3,000 Peruvian new soles, she will buy live chickens in sacks so that she can continue supplying her loyal and frequent customers.

Marina is a very independent, decisive and self-assured woman. She is grateful to the Manuela Ramos Movement organization for allowing her to grow as an entrepreneur and a woman.
