Ester Guiquing's Group's story

Ester G. is from the village of Brgy. Canyogan Abajo, Tumuini, Isabela. Ester is the group leader of a 10-member group loan offered by ASKI. While each member of the group receives an individual loan, they are all collectively responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members if someone is delinquent or defaults.

Ester is married and has four school-aged children. She is 41 years old. To make a living, Ester raises pigs for fattening and sale. Ester has been engaged in her business for over 21 years and earns approximately 2,500 PHP a month from these activities.

In 2011, Ester joined ASKI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Ester is requesting a new loan of 5,000 PHP which will be used to purchase hog feed and other supplies. This will be Ester's first loan from ASKI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated to improve and expand her business.
